Subject: Different Style
I first chose American Auto Transport to do my car transport. However, I wanted my car transported on date X, and they did not deliver on that date. All they told me was that it would be done “soon.” That was not enough for me, so I called company Y.

My car ended up being transported by a third company. Even though it was difficult to tell what would have happened if I did not call company Y, I could tell you the following about American Auto Transport.

The person always responded before I paid my deposit. However, after that it was different. A different person not always responded to my email or voice mail. I can tell that their company has many people and complex (at least compared to company Y). I would also say that their company culture is “passive” and maybe too “cool.”

They did follow the contract, and they have my deposit. The contract only says “estimated” date of shipment.

If you are patient, and if you are okay with “hope” by itself (versus with information and communication surrounding “hope”), then you and American Auto Transport have the same style.

Worst service ever. This was a B2B transaction with the need for multiple moves on the vehicle for a TV show on a major TV Network. Driver never called for second pick up in New York, driver from Miami to NY was demanding more money than what was owed. AMERICAN AUTO TRANSPORT did not respond to emails nor did they own up to their promised pick up time, in fact they never showed up at all. As a business owner I understand the importance of customer service and response time and this company is way below the bar. Customer BEWARE.

Out of all the brokers/shipping companies this is by far the worst. I should have listened to all the negative reviews on this site & the BBB. I needed the car shipped before monday because I was going in for surgery. I was over clear with the shipping brokers that if the truck could not be here before that day I would not be available. I was OVER clear as to what I needed and kept getting text messages and phone calls from Matt at American Auto transport (text # 882-02 watch out). He assured me he had a truck driver who was going to pick up the truck on Friday and be in my area on saturday or worst case Sunday (his words). I told him I had already had other arrangements made because of my time frame. He said he spoke to the truck driver a as soon as I booked with him the driver was on his way. I gave him my credit card and that was the last I heard from Matt. I have never had anyone go out of there way to screw me for know reason. The company never had a truck available. This was a total lie and I have the text messages to prove it. I was over clear and asked him over and over again if he can’t get the truck here as promised please tell me so I can get it myself. He told me ” It’s a done deal, he’ll be there saturday or worst case Sunday, unless he breaks down” Why he would go out of his way to lie to me like this I will never know. I feel he may have a mental problem and should be evaluated.
I had Dynamic transport ship the truck to me on Sunday for less money. They were the only honest brokers I came across (ask for Angie).
I’ll think about Matt in the hospital this week.. I hope he gets the help he needs
