I contacted a person from this company named Ron, a week and half before we set a pick up day and the payment. Three days before the pick up I called him to confirm the date and he said there was no problem, that I would be contacted by the driver, I day before I called him again to set an hour for the pick up day and he said that there was no specific hour, that I have to wait for the driver to call me; I said I wanted to have a confirmation about the hour because I did not want to spend the entire day waiting for this guy to call me….Ron said: Do your normal day, if the driver calls you he will wait for you to arrive at the pick up location…. The pick up day arrived and NO ONE showed up, NO ONE called, NO ONE answered the phone… We had to travel the next day to New Mexico and I could not send the car the day before… These people are really IRRESPONSIBLE… My biggest mistake was to trust them and I did not had a plan B…DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I spoke with Mike about shipping my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Friday April 18 from Loveland, CO to Durham, NH. I put down a $150 dollar deposit on my debit card. On April 14, he said we were ‘all set’ for shipping the vehicle. He said he would call to solidify a time for pick-up, and never called. We called and he gave various times over the week, first before noon, and then finally ‘after 6.’ It was extremely difficult to get ahold of him, and I was promised multiple calls back and never received any of them. I called him again on the evening of April 17, and he said I would receive an email with the driver’s information on the morning of April 18 (the day of pick-up). By noon EST, I still hadn’t received an email, so I called Mike, then the 1-800 number, and the additional number given on the BBB website. No one ever picked up the phone. My mother and I left two voicemails. The car was never picked up Friday, we never got driver information, and then we couldn’t get ahold of the company so that they can refund the deposit. Back when someone was answering the phone, I was always given some excuse about where Mike was, and I was always told “we’ll look into it and call you back,” and yet I always had to initiate the calling, because no one ever called me back. Later, I found out that the company left my car on the national pick-up website, and no other company could ship it until it came off under Creative Rides’ name. I emailed them to take it off, and without any apology about literally never answering my calls, they replied, “Done.” The customer service was virtually non-existent. I eventually sent an ex-lawyer relative in the area directly into the office in Florida and he was given some pathetic excuse about Mike being out sick. I wasn’t given a refund until someone physically went into the office in Florida to demand answers. Later I found out the company is on an auto transport blacklist…do your research first.
WATCHOUT!!! I still can not get Mike to refund payment or take my transport off the board. When we first made a deal, he said he had a driver and that we were all set. Gave me a final firm quote. I agreed and said that I would like the driver’s information. He agreed, we did the deal and he told me that I would receive an email with the drivers information in 15 minuets. 2 hours later, my card was charged, but no driver information, 5 phone calls later and a day later same story. Finally he stopped answering my calls and just went dark. What a waste of time, at this point I would just like him to remove the listing and refund my payment.
Very bad experience
I planned on to ship my car from Boston to NC in August. I was contacted by Paul in May 2014 . He promised that unlike other shipping company which has 3 to 5 day window, my car would be picked up on the day I wanted, and would be delivered from Boston to NC in 3 to 5 days. Ron sounded very reliable and convincing. Delighted, I booked the service. In the meanwhile, I reserved a rented car in NC for 7 days anyways just in case my car arrived two or three days later. It arrived a whole week later then he promised. The driver picked up my car 4 days later then the arranged date, and they delivered my car 3 days later then they promised. If you have the patience, the followings are the details.
It turned out that no one picked up the car that Saturday at all, and when I called Ron, no one picked up the phone. I had to leave for NC Sunday and asked a friend to handle this matter. I was able to get hold of Ron Monday. He said that it had been the driver’s fault, and the driver was going to pick up my car that day. The calls continued from Tuesday to Wednesday. And every time Ron would promise you in a way that you believed that someone was picking up the car that day. The driver picked up the car finally Wednesday when I received an invoice.
Later my friend told me that Creative Rides was not a shipping company but a broker. They posted ads online for small shipping companies at very low price and increased the rates until some companies were willing to do the work. So that Saturday Ron knew very well that no one was coming to pick up the car.
I felt that I could understand the business–there are too many parties involved, which made the shipping longer than it should take. But Ron should have informed his customers of this beforehand instead of keeping lying.
What is worse is still to follow. 1. When I said that I had to renew my reservations twice from 7 days to 10 days, which increased my shipping cost, he threatened that I could cancel my service with him. I had to bite my bullet, since I needed my car as soon as possible, and I already spent so much time and money. I could not understand how a person who kept reassuring you everything would suddenly turn so ugly.
2) The car’s bumper was knocked and had a rift during the shipping. I pointed this out to the driver. The driver said that I should contact Paula, his boss and she would definitely file the insurance company, and asked me to sign the landing paper. Paula lashed me for wanting money from her, and kept talking, not giving you a chance to talk at all. She said that only when I provided her with a picture before the car was shipped on their truck and a picture when I got the car, could she file it to the insurance company. I did not understand why I had to do what she said: who would be so prepared, especially when you asked your friend to handle this for you. I said that your driver did not say on the paper that there was a rift before he shipped my car, and now I had a picture of my car with a rift on the bumper. Isn’t this enough? She did not listen and kept talking like crazy. Ridiculously, Ron said that I could not use picture as evidence because it did not show when it was taken and it could be faked. How could I faked a picture so soon on my Iphone. Finally, he came up with a better answer: I should have pointed out that there was this rift on my bumper on the landing paper before I signed it. Yes, legally when I had not done it, the law was not on my side.
I felt that if I continued to reason with these people who only recognize money, who became crazy as soon as they realized that they needed to pay (if you hit a car by accident and caused damage, you pay through your insurance. That is what insurance is for), I would have ruined my happiness and well-being. My friend comforted me, saying that the whole business was like this, and I should learn a lesson and get on with my life. I stopped being angry the next day. Now after I have settled in better, and I have a little time, I am writing it down to be careful with this company, and to note the damage on paper before you sign it.
I had everything lined up with Mike. He always responded to my texts and called me back. Until yesterday the pick up date. He is very nice however I wouldn’t recommend him they never came to pick up my car nor did they have a driver. I called Mike several times yesterday no answer. I called the company today the person I was speaking with said he would have Mike call me at 10. It was 8 am. Then I asked to speak with the manager he said he wouldn’t be in till 10 to. I called another number to cancel my order and Ron the manager picked up the phone. The whole company is full of lies. PLEASE DON’T GO WITH THIS COMPANY. it wouldn’t be a big deal but I had everything in line over a month and was told several times I was good to go to include 2 days prior to pick up. He said it was going to be picked up at 6 pm on the 1st. No one came and no one answered the phone.
Wish I would have seen this web site before trying to deal with Creative Auto. Month before I needed a transport I talked to Mike and all was set said he would call on 26th-no call-finally got him to answer phone said he would call on Mon-no call. I called him on Tues and he said to hold on he was on other line and had to hang up-help for 8 min-my daughter texted him and he didn’t know the number so he texted back-then said he was waiting for driver to call him and would call next day. I was where we had no internet so when I could go online I called another company and she said she could see my name on the board but the amt the job was posted for was the total amount I was supposed to pay and they would charge a deposit on top of that. If no driver took the job they would raise the pay so would cost me much more. I called main office and was told he was on lunch-so I told Ron to cancel the order and get it off the board. Also called my bank and put a stop on any withdrawal they would try to make from my account. So anyone wanting to transport a vehicle DO NOT use this lying company-How can they even stay in business??
ITS A SCAM.VEHICLE NEVER GOT PICKED UP.its been 2 weeks now.Mike charged me 150$ and stopped answering my calls from the schedule day of pick up.Dont waste your time on this company
Is a scam, mike will steal 150.00 and will never provide a service.
Creative Rides is a broker. They will attempt to find you a driver by posting your car on a board which is used by brokers and truckers. This is normal. The mark of a good broker is to place your move for the right price, ensure that you get a truck lined up and deal with any logistics or issues that arise. Creative Rides were contracted to move two of my cars cross country a week apart. The first move went perfectly. The second was one of the most disgusting instances of selfish disregard I have ever encountered. The second car was never picked up. Ron lied to me and said that there was a driver arranged and he would pick up the car, but this was a lie. I discovered that this was a lie when another broker checked the board for me and saw it was never claimed as the price that Creative put on was way too low. When the driver didnt show, I called Creative, but after answering and then hanging up, they refused to answer the phone over a four day period when I called them from at least five different numbers. I emailed twice, no response. Each time they would block the number after hanging up without saying a word when they knew it was me. The mark of a good broker is what they will do when things go wrong. Creative Rides will completely abandon you, ignore you, and refuse to speak to you. You can see this in other reviews which I wish I had paid more attention to. Sure, there are some good reviews, but why wouldn’t there be? I’m sure most of the time if they can find a driver then the job goes ahead fine. But if they don’t get a driver or the driver cancels, they won’t tell you, they will just take your deposit and completely ignore you, knowing full well that you will be completely screwed as a result. They caused us so much dismay and anguish when we were moving. I hope that this review stops others making the same terrible mistake we made. Avoid these selfish cowboys at all cost and heed the other bad reviews of which there are MANY.
