I have been calling around to get quotes. I called this organization, and the man that answered the phone was extremely rude….I would not use them to deliver my vehicle.
Stuck me with tolls.
I arranged Montway to transport two of my vehicles from Arizona to Florida. The rep I talked with on the phone indicated that 80% of the time they use their own drivers but mine was brokered out to third party 2 Lines Auto Transport, Inc. I looked up 2 Line Auto Transport, Inc. on-line and found that they had multiple violations with the department of transportation. I was going to cancel the order when I realized that I would lose my $400 deposit since they had already assigned it to a driver. Not happy I hoped for the best. Montway gave me a pickup between 06/18/2014 and 06/19/2014. Delivery was set between 06/21/2014 and 06/22/2014. We were leaving Arizona for Florida on 6/22/2014. The driver didn’t show up until 6/22/2014 and I calling them was the only way to get any information on the delay. I had to press that we were leaving and nobody would be there after 6/22/2014. They required that the vehicles be clean for inspection at pickup but they were extremely dirty at delivery, making inspection difficult. I wasn’t able to meet the carrier at delivery so my in-laws signed for the vehicles and paid the driver.
On 7/24/2014 I received a TOLL-BY-PLATE INVOICE in the mail referencing one of the vehicles that I had transported. It indicated that, on 6/24/2014 at 11:08:55 PM at Anderson Rd, Lane 12D my license plate was captured on camera as going through a toll booth without paying toll. The invoice, referencing Florida Statue 316.1001, threatened additional fees, potential citations and collections if I didn’t pay the fine. I’ve had to spend hours of my personal time trying to get this resolved so that I didn’t incur additional charges or collections. A consumer should never have to go through this because of a service they paid for with hard earned money
DO NOT USE THEM-They selected “UNITED AUTO TRANSPORT LLC” to transport my Vehicle. The transporter damaged my vehicle when their Truck drove under a low underpass. Basically RIPPING THE ROOF OFF my vehicle- Totaling it . Now they say the insurance will not cover loss, When I go back to Montway they say they cant help me!! . They could only supply me with the insurance certificate but I have to take it from there and even had to fight to get my damaged car back from UAT,LLC .You have to question the brokers method and practices of choosing qualified and insured transporters to use.
All I can say is deal direct with the company transporting your vehicle to avoid what happened to me . If people were honest in doing business when a mistake is made this would not have to go to this level .
