  1. Company: American Auto Transport (FL)
Contract Agreement price was not honored
After signing the contract agreement for $325, I never received any calls to coordinate/confirm prior to the scheduled pickup date. At the end of the day after the scheduled pickup date, they called indicating the pickup would be the following day, but it was going to be an additional $100 above the contract agreement. After questioning why they were not honoring the contract agreement, they hung up. A wasted week trying to get my vehicle shipped, going with a different company.

    Subject: THEY ARE LIARS!!!

Spoke to David Gatz on Friday, July 26 who assured me that my vehicle would be picked up and delivered on Monday July 29. Told me that he had a driver. Made me sign papers and all. After signing, I’m lucky if I got a response to my emails, let alone all my voice messages I left for him and several other AAT phone operators, Jessica, Tom, Victor and probably every number in their so called office thats probably just some payphone on some random corner. I sent email after email until I sent one last “CANCEL MY ORDER” email. Still no response. But DAVID GATZ did read it as I received a “Read Receipt”. DO NOT USE AMERICAN AUTO TRANSPORT “AAT”. SCAM ARTISTS. I called another transporter yesterday and within 15 minutes my listing was removed from Central Dispatch cause they got me a driver! And it’s just so funny how this transporter told me that I was never even listed on Central!!! That’s how you should be rolling! That’s the “RITE WAY to TRANSPORT”. NOTE: THIS IS MY SECOND REVIEW AS MY FIRST ONE WAS REMOVED. NOW I LISTED THE ORDER NUMBER AND HAVE THE SIGNED ORDER FOR PROOF IF YOU NEED IT. PLEASE TELL NATALIE GIBSON, PAUL STRASBOURG, RICHARD WRIGHT TO CEASE AND DESIST ALL EMAILS TO ME TO TRY TO TRANSPORT MY VEHICLE. It’s currently in my possession safe and sound! NO THANKS to American Auto Transport “AAT”.

  4. they broker out your car. When it can’t be located they make you do the work looking for your car..They don’t answer or call you back. As of today April 10th we still don’t know where our car is.They brokered our car to United Car Transport.WE haven’t heard from them either where our car is. Thay also have not answered their phone. It seems like a three person operation.Very Shady.WE are now filing complaints with the US transportation as well as the interstate commerce commission

  5. This was a bad experience with American Auto Transport. I was in the Transportation & Logistics business myself for over 30 years and this type of customer service should not occur and was something I never tolerated. There quote was $300 more than others who quoted this move. The quote was for $1250, with $150 for the broker fee. They decided to charge $200 for the fee after they assigned a driver. This was not acceptable to me as we had a written agreement. I gave them plenty of notice on when to pick up the vehicle, but they seldom made the necessary contact to update me of their progress. They also said a driver would be contacting me for the pickup, but I did not hear from the driver or from them. I had to call several times to get status. This type of service is not acceptable from anyone in the transportation business. Drivers, and or brokers, should never be allowed to change the order once it is quoted and accepted. I finally heard from a driver I had used before and they accepted the vehicle for transportation. They did a good job once it was picked up, and they did keep in contact. This broker needs to ensure that they get a driver for the amount requested and not allow them to select the cream of the crop for transportation. The shipping order is a contract.

  6. After much reading and checking reviews, I called AAT. Their customer service rep Angela seemed a little shady and things only went downhill rapidly from there. She said they are licensed broker and carrier – which THEY ARE NOT!

Next, Jessica in customer service was RUDE, INSULTING and INCOMPETENT. They made my reservation with a carrier with an expired license and blatantly denied it even though I called FMCSA myself to verify it was expired. (carrier = RZ Auto Transport, Inc.)

When I explained to Jessica that I had spoken to D.O.T. and FMCSA, she told me I was confused. I then told her I wanted her to cancel my reservation and since they had not booked me with a licensed carrier, they were in breach of contract and I wanted my $100 deposit refunded. She refused and began insulting me. I immediately called my credit-card company and WILL be getting the refund as well as blocking them from future charges.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS “BUSINESS”.

  7. I vehemently do NOT recommend American Auto Transport. I signed a contract with the company one month prior to the pickup date. The day of the pickup I called multiple times to see when their driver would arrive to pick up my vehicle (they gave me a window between 8 am and 5 pm). By the time 5 pm arrived, I was told by the dispatcher that they were trying to get a driver to me the next day. It is now two days after they were originally supposed to pick it up. I called the dispatcher and was told that a driver would not be able to pick up our vehicle until next week “with no guarantee”, “maybe Monday…”. I spoke to the dispatcher’s manager about the situation and all he could say was that American Auto Transport does not guarantee pick up. Bottom-line is I was given the expectation by AAT to have my vehicle picked up within a 48-hour window of the estimated pickup time, a pretty generous window considering that most other services that you pay for, let alone pay THOUSANDS of dollars for, have only less than a 24-hour window to get you your product/service, let alone something that you planned a MONTH in advance. I understand weather and personnel constraints, but they had a month to ensure my vehicle would have a driver to pick up my vehicle. This company did not come through for me as I prepared my family for my next military duty station, and once again highlighted the lack of customer care and service characterizing many businesses today. I was forced to cancel the contract and find an alternate transport company with extremely short notice.

  8. I placed an order with American Auto to have my car shipped from Marlboro,NJ, to Boca Raton, Fl. First I was given a lesson on what I should look for in a car transport co, then I was quoted a price of $550 total, sent an order, which I signed and returned. On the day of the supposed pickup, nobody showed up or called, the following Monday I was told that I could have the car pickup and delivered later that week for $750 now, and sent the same document to e-sign again.

Total BS, this is deceptive business practice

Order #9374882 (between Michael Dennis and American Auto) is Signed and Filed!

  9. My experience with this company was terrible. They were to pick up my vehicle on 08/18/2014 and never showed. Called throughout the entire week until 08/23/2014 and the company representative was not available and when someone did return our call they continued to promise the next day throughout the week. Cost us additional dollars by having to rent a car in Florida and ship items we had stored in the vehicle.

  10. I contracted with American Auto Transport for the transport of my Camaro to MO from IL. The agreement was to have the vehicle delivered less than 500 miles distance before 5pm on Friday 9/5. I needed to leave town for my son’s baseball tournament over the weekend. I had worked with Paul Strausberg at American Auto Transport. The vehicle was picked up in IL about 6pm by ASAP Transport. Paul provided me the phone number for ASAP Transport for me to contact for further details on the transport. Paul knew the time schedule would not be kept and instructed ASAP Transport to not respond to my inquiries.

American Auto Transport would not answer my calls over the next 3 days. I left messages and called 30-40 times. They would not tell me where my car was or when it would be delivered. They charged my credit card then made me the problem of the transporter.

Horrible uncaring people!!! They collected their fee up front and that’s all they cared about.
