  1. Hired this broker and quoted me one proce then when vehicle at port thwy suddenly raised the price prior to picking it up. Never sent me my quoted cobtract till I conplained about beong dishonest about the price. Then sent me the contract with the original quoted price. Idiots. Then I had to do all the work to schedule the pick up of my vehicle between the trucker and the port. Then the broker called and lied as to why my vehicle couldnt be picked up the day ot was scheduled and found out a different reason via the actual trucking company called. The custpmer service reps are rude as hell on every call. Never return ur messages and the customer service supervisor is just as rude. None of them know what the hell they are doing at all. I made a million calls within a few weeks and got no resolution to any of my concerns. I literally did all the work conducting the pickup and delivery of my vehicle. What did I pay the broker to do for me? Absolutely nothing because they have no damn clue at all what they are doing. Literally the worst conpany I ever dealt with in my entire life. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. TOTAL SCAM AND LITERALLY NO DAMN CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND ARE RUDE AS HELL. I PAID THEM AND THEY DID NOTHING FOR ME AND AM CERTAIN BEING THE DELIVERY DEADLINES DID NOT GET MET THAT THEY WILL NEVER CARE TO COMPENSATE THE CUSTOMER OVER THEIR CRAP SERVICE.

  2. Where to start? If you read Quintin’s review, my experience is almost a dead on duplicate of what happened to him. At first I thought I WAS reading my review, right down to the “my car is still in Tacoma, why don’t you know what’s going on, YOU’RE the shipper?” part.

The first thing is, they tout themselves as Alaska Auto Transport, but they don’t have a single person from their company who knows anything about Anchorage, “the docks” (where things are shipped out), or any of the local businesses. They claim that they have a “brick and mortar” in the form of their shipping “affiliate” but when I called the so-called affiliate (in a desperate attempt to find out what was going on), they said “No, we are a CONTRACTOR to them, that is all, we are NOT an affiliate”. In fact, the ONLY time they got things even halfway right throughout this whole fiasco, is that the local tow company who originally picked up my car, did it quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, that’s where the good ended.

From the time the tow company picked up and delivered my car to Roadrunner’s “yard” (which they either do or don’t have in Anchorage, they gave me many different stories about that), they completely lost track of what was going on. Just as an example, I called to get an update (to make sure it would make the shipping date), and Nicole thought I’d delivered the car, and on a date that was completely inaccurate. They didn’t even have their OWN information re: their local towing contractor.

The car is a classic, in the midst of the restoration process, so it’s got some mechanical problems (it does run), such as the trunk lock mechanism missing and needs to be opened by a screwdriver. A full MONTH before I was ready to ship, I talked to the manager to line out all of its issue and provided both verbal and written instructions on how to get into various parts of the car. In addition, my mechanic was fully ready to go to the shipping yard to assist if they had issues.

Somehow, in spite of the tow truck driver (thank you local Anchorage company! you were the only bright spot in this nightmare), having delivered the car to the docks EARLY, they didn’t manage to look through it and do a search until half an hour before the loading for the ship was to begin. And then, upon having issues with the hood, did they follow the written instructions? or call either of the numbers listed for help? (and my mechanic would have happily gone down to help HAD they called, he’s also a long-standing family friend).

Nope, you guessed it, they didn’t bother calling. In fact, the only time they bothered to contact me was when the bill was due. After that? No call-backs, dropped calls, being put on hold for 20 or 30 minutes at a time.

Their website clearly states 10 to 14 days (for my route) to the destination. It was well over 10 days late, and I’d originally (though of course they mucked that all up), scheduled for it to be shipped a bit early, just in case.

When it finally reached Tacoma, they were very lackadaisical about obtaining a trucker to take it the rest of the way. And oh, what a joy THAT experience was when they finally did contract someone. There was VERY clear instruction, and phone numbers on the shipping documents for the trucker for when he got close to his destination. It’s out in farm country, and can be hard to navigate. He was to call when he was about to enter the farm road area. But he didn’t, despite having called the recipient 4 hours before he arrived in the area, he decided he knew what he was doing and just used his GPS. He ended up on a road too narrow for his truck and ended up driving it into a ditch.

That is when he finally called the person receiving the car. He complained to her that his bumper was ruined and that it would take 2000 to fix it (clearly insinuating that it was somehow her fault he’d run into the ditch), and then told her he was going to take the car to a junkyard that he was ‘through”. We have pictures of the ditch, it’s approximately 4 feet deep, so how he didn’t know he couldn’t just drive through it is being me.

My folks finally convinced him to unload the car there (it had been loaded on the truck in FRONT of other cars that had further to go, smh), so they had to unload other cars to get to mine. He wanted my sister to sign the papers before he unloaded it, and she said “no way, you get it off there undamaged first”. He was nasty and accusatory, and as I said, had threatened to just dump it at a junkyard at first. As it ended up, he basically unloaded it on a farm road a mile from my sister’s place, and was done with it. I did call RR and they (for the first time), acted somewhat sympathetic and supposedly called the guy’s boss. Though my sister and folks had already pretty much gotten the trucker to compromise and give them the car by that time. The whole thing was a frustrating long drawn out nightmare. I could have contracted the shipping and trucking myself.

Don’t use this company, you’ll be sorry you did.

  3. Was about to go through this company until I received my “2nd” quote from them. The original was $545 and then this morning I got one for $715. I looked them up on this page and read the reviews. Now Im going with USA Auto shippers. A little expensive but you get what you pay for.
