  1. After reviewing auto transport companies, I found Stateway Auto to have the best reviews so I booked with them to ship my car from California to Maryland. They acted as a brokerage service to another trucking company to get my car shipped. The problem was that I blindly trusted Stateway Auto based off their great reviews. They hired an absolutely garbage company, KJ Falcon, who had consistently bad reviews. I never would have chosen them. Driver barely spoke English and delivered to Virginia, would not deliver to contracted location. Stateway has since blacklisted them, but I would be concerned on what other companies they deem “good”.

During the fiasco of retrieving my car from the wrong state with a belligerent trucker, I tried to contact Stateway by email and phone. Left messages on their “emergency” voicemail and did not receive any communication until after the vehicle was picked up. Adam said he would talk to the manager and start working on our issue. Two weeks had passed with NO CONTACT from Stateway Auto! I posted a negative review of their company and then, and only then, did they seem to care enough to contact me. Not about my car being delivered to the wrong state through a company THEY hired, but about me leaving a negative review. Michael then wrote me saying I wasn’t a client of theirs to which I proved with Credit Card transactions, dispatch email, order forms, and contract. Stateway Auto continually gives excuses for poor communication and service, and will not take responsibility for brokering my vehicle to a horrible company that I had no part in.

The level of unprofessionalism we received from this company has been outrageous, especially from Pamela Cohen. She tried to conduct business via text on numerous occasions to which I asked her for an email address and she continued to text. The company tried to remedy the situation so that the review was taken down but after failing their part (after extra time was given to them and more excuses were given to us) we felt like people deserved to know the truth about this company. I would HIGHLY recommend shopping around and paying for a better service. This was my first time shipping a vehicle and I learned the hard way that the low price company isn’t worth it.

  2. I booked my auto move a few months before the pick-up date. Stateway Auto Transport had the best rate and a reasonable response to my inquiries.

The problems started when my pick-up windows opened. I never received any feedback from Stateway on when my auto would be picked-up. When I called them to inquire as to the status, I never got a real person, but left numerous voice mails. When someone from Stateway did call me back, then had no information. I started over with everyone I talked to. Three times I was told by a Stateway employee that they would get the issue sorted out and call me back. Three times, I never got a call back.

When I finally got info on my pick-up it was the afternoon of the last day in the 7 day pick-up window. At that time I was told that the shipment would cost an extra $200 if I wanted it picked-up in the window. As I am military and in the process of moving, I had no choice but to pay the higher quote to get my car shipped. At 9:00 pm, the last day of my window, I finally put my auto on a truck so that I could drive out of town the next morning with my family.

I would not use them again. If you are lucky enough to speak to someone, they will say whatever they need to to get you off of the phone. I had a confirmed quote i.e. contract with them, but they would not honor it and I was in a corner so they took advantage of me.

  3. Where do i start. I got a call back from Mike saying they could do better on the price. So he came down a lot to 795.00. I asked if this price is for enclosed? He told me it was and he would send me an email. When i got the email it never said enclosed. I had to call back 2 time to get my answer. That the big thing over there you will NEVER speak to a live person on a call to them.So i try emailing Pam (the dispatcher) At first i emailed her 2 times asking what is going on with the pick up.I was told it take 1 to 7 days, but i would hear something very soon. I did i got a call 5 days into it That they want 300 MORE dollars. I said no but i wanted the car so i told them i would split the difference with them. NOPE they said they would not. Now we are on the 9th day i left 4 email for pam never did she respond back. I was told she called me on my cell phone ( sorry i work for the government my cell phone is on and working 24/7). So when i email her 2 more time still no reply why didn’t she reply to them if she called. Now i just want my money back and go to a place where they don’t try t scam you. I read a review that was almost the same as mine. I wish they posted it sooner i would have never gone to them. Now there are more post of the same thing happing to other people. If you want to take a chance and get the run around the call them if not find your self another carrier. ones that answer the phone when you call. if you don’t believe me call for yourself
